I’m turning 18 in a matter of days and I’m only realizing tonight after hickups with the plans, that 99% of the relationships that I hold with people are one sided and only existing because of the effort I make. Turning 18, as much as I have been excited, and doubted it was going to happen, has given me a total reality check on my life, and most of the people celebrating my birthday with me are acquaintances who I don’t necessarily need in my life. My boyfriend suggests to rid of them and continued to tell me their scum, although as I told him without them in my life I would be lonely, isolated and have one friend to rely on, as they are too busy just caring for themselves. I will reference MySpace here as when I was younger I’d do the bulletins with questions, I clearly remember one saying would you rather have 2 real friends or 20 acquaintences, I answered with 2 real friends, although now thinking about it I’ve chosen the acquaintences. My life has totally changed and I realize I’ve has my eyes closed the whole time. I don’t want to grow up, it has.come way too fast. The only things I truely want for my 18th birthday is my dad, 2 REAL friends and some serious vodka.
